Music - E-portfolio Sample - Term 4 2018

Music - E-portfolio Sample - Term 4 2018

This term we have been learning how to play some new rhythms on our bucket drums.

We learnt to play the down beat where we play on each beat, it looks like this:

Then we learnt to play the front beat where we only play on beats 1 and 3, it looks like this:

We also learnt to play the backbeat where we only play on beats 2 and 4, it looks like this:

After we had practiced the beats we learnt to play along with some songs.

What do you think is the most important thing to do so that you stay in time when you are playing on the bucket drums?
I think you should try to learn all of the notes and tunes before you start to get in time you should also practice with the music.

Which song do you think would be good to play the bucket drums to and why?
I think a good song is hall of fame because I can hear some drums in the song and it sounds easy to play.

What could you do to improve your bucket drumming in the future?
I want to try and keep in time with everyone else and keep practicing the songs that i'm not very good at drumming to.

WEEK 7 REFLECTION

WEEK 7 REFLECTION

What Learning did you find challenging this week?
I found my writing challenging because we had to label all of four different bikes and I don't know a lot about bikes.

How did you use a growth mindset to overcome these learning challenges?
I overcome this by asking my friend for help because they knew a lot about bikes and I tried to look really closely at the picture of the bikes.

What is the piece of the work you are most proud of this week?
I am proud of my reading we were reading the boy on  the bike and he bike almost the whole Country.

Why are you proud if it?
I am proud of it because I spoke really loudly and clear and I also really liked the story.

week 5 reflection

WEEK 5 REFLECTION
What did I achieve this week during Passion Project time?
We were researching and finding crafts to do next week, we came up with the candy cane reindeer, the marshmallow snowman and last but not least the Santa Claus rock painting.
What challenges did I have?
We found it hard to find some stuff that are not so much to eat and some crafts that don't involve cooking so we had a look on pinterest and some other websites to find ideas.

What am I going to work on next week?
We are going to make the reindeer using red pom poms, brown pipe cleaners, googly eyes and mint flavoured candy canes we are also gonna try research some more ideas if we finish in time.

Me and Fiona had trouble sticking the pompoms and googly eyes on because the hot glue kept on burning us. we also had trouble with shaping the pipe cleaners because they kept on gong out of shape.

What am I going to work on next week?
Next week me and Fiona are going to try and make a marshmallow snow man that you can put in hot chocolate. we will make them with marshmallows, chocolate, long tooth picks, gummies, and pretzel sticks.
